Getting to Val Thorens

COMING BY TRAIN
The train is the easiest way to get to Val Thorens.

Val Thorens is one of the most well-connected ski resorts in the Alps by train, with direct rail journeys possible from cities such as Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, as well as cities like Grenoble and Lyon.

The closest train station is Moutiers, Salins les Thermes, Brides les Bains, approximately 45 minutes away by bus or taxi.

Train travel is fast and reliable: you can reach Moûtiers from Paris by TGV in under 5 hours, or travel from London to Bourg St Maurice on the direct Eurostar ski train in just over 8 hours, both day and night. Train travel is the most eco-friendly way to journey, reducing your carbon emissions and helping to protect the mountains and the planet.

Daily trains, TGVs, Eurostars, and Thalys services arrive in Moûtiers (the closest station to Val Thorens) every day (approximately 40 kilometers away).

To reach Val Thorens from the Moûtiers train station, you can take a shuttle (book below), rent a car, or use a taxi or a private transportation service (VTC).

• D117 to Val Thorens

GPS ALERT:

If you are using a GPS, it may recommend taking the D96 from Moûtiers. This route is strongly discouraged due to its very narrow and regularly closed road.

As a reminder, in mountain regions, special equipment is mandatory (snow tires or chains) from November 1st to March 31st. Since Val Thorens is the highest village in Europe, we recommend using special equipment throughout the entire season.
